         Hämeenlinnan pääkirjaston peruskorjaus toteutetaan KVR-urakkana. Hanke käsittää suunnittelun, lupien hakemisen ja rakentamisen liitteenä olevien viitesuunnitelmien ja muiden urakkalaskenta-asiakirjojen mukaisesti.

         Urakan aloitus kesällä 2018. Varsinaiset rakennustyöt kohteessa alkavat lokakuussa 2018 ja kohteen peruskorjauksen tulee olla valmis keväällä 2020.

         Rakennuksen laajuus pysyy miltei muuttumattomana, ainoastaan katolle rakennetaan uusi IV-konehuone. Ulkovaipan korjaustoimenpiteitä ovat mm. julkisivuikkunoiden sekä vesikaton uusiminen. Remontin pääasiallisena sisäpuolisina sisältönä on pintojen uusiminen sekä huonetilojen muutoksia ja lisäyksiä. Kaikki LVISA-järjestelmät uusitaan ja nykyaikaistetaan. Hankkeen myötä kirjastosta tulee itsepalvelukirjasto, joka palvelee kuntalaisia myös aukioloaikojen ulkopuolella.
