         Hankinnan kohteena on ITSM-palvelunhallintajärjestelmä palveluna Jyväskylän yliopiston palvelutoiminnan tueksi ja kehittämiseksi. Palvelunhallintajärjestelmässä käsitellään ja hallitaan asiakkaiden palvelupyyntöjä ja palveluihin liittyviä vikailmoituksia. Palvelunhallintajärjestelmä on yliopiston sisäisten asiakkaiden, tutkinto-opiskelijoiden ja ulkoisten asiakkaiden palvelupyyntöjen ensisijainen käsittelyväylä. Palvelupyyntöjen käsittelijöiden kokonaismäärä on arviolta 300 henkilöä. ITSM-palvelunhallintajärjestelmää (”Service Desk -ohjelmisto”) hyödynnetään Jyväskylän yliopiston palveluiden hallinnassa siten, että järjestelmän kautta toteutetaan palvelunhallinta kokonaisuutena palveluiden tarjoamisen, tilaamisen ja yhteydenottojen käsittelyn lisäksi myös palveluiden laadunseuranta ja raportointi asiakasyksikkökohtaisesti. Järjestelmää voidaan soveltaa kaikkeen palvelutuotantoon, ei pelkästään tietohallinnon tarpeisiin.
